Quiet Riot

The hair metal group Quiet Riot formed in 1975 as a standard hard rock group showcasing the talents of vocalist Kevin DuBrow and guitarist Randy Rhoads. When Rhoads quit the band in 1979 to work with Ozzy Osbourne, DuBrow took Quiet Riot in a more pop direction, blending glam and pop with the group's pre-existing hard rock sound. The result, 1983's Metal Health, reached No. 1 and went platinum -- a first for a heavy metal band -- and spawned the megahits "Cum On Feel the Noize" (originally by Slade) and "Metal Health." Several more similar-sounding albums followed, maintaining Quiet Riot's status as one of the most popular hair metal bands of the 1980s.
Though the group disbanded in 1988, DuBrow re-formed Quiet Riot in 1993, releasing the new album Down to the Bone in 1995.
