Dolly cooks up some country with Bellamys Seventies stars set for Belfast TV date

By Eddie McIlwaine

DOLLY Parton has been persuaded to join country-rock's Bellamy Brothers - Howard and David - on a track of their new album 'Angels and Outlaws'.

And there are no prizes for guessing which Bellamy hit Dolly - who was a sensation at the Waterfront Hall last year - will be singing with the lads.

"It's 'If I Said You Had a Beautiful Body Would You Hold It Against Me?'," revealed Howard in Belfast, where the brothers were recording the television series Hugo and Friends with broadcaster-singer Hugo Duncan, for a springtime BBC1 date direct from the Blackstaff Studios.

"I'm an angelic outlaw - get me out of here," Dolly said when the brothers approached her with their suggestion for the song.

"She really put her heart into it," revealed David. "It's one of the best tracks on the album. It gives this country ballad a whole new meaning."

Howard and David will also be resurrecting their golden oldie from 1979 for the Hugo television show and singing other tracks from the 21-song CD on the Curb label.

Linking up as Angels and Outlaws too on another track will be Daniel O'Donnell, harmonising with the Bellamys in 'I Need More Of You', and Sir Cliff Richard shares another track with them in 'I Could Be Persuaded'.

Other superstars on the album include Neil Diamond (Sweet Caroline), Willie Nelson (Guardian Angel) and George Jones (Sugar Daddy).
